This is going to be the best motorcycle event all summer. Why? Well, let me tell you.

Tug of war battle! Lady headliners Lark vs Jenocide and lads Big Steve vs “Hay Little Guy!” Jonah go head to head for the trophy! After that, it’s a f**king free-for-all, anyone can try!

Minibike racing tournament! You don’t have to be good, you just have to have fun! We’ve got the minibikes, you just have to have to get on and ride. 25 cent beers for those who participate in either racing or tug of war of the above events.

Stuff to put in your mouth! The pig roast and food stuffs will keep your belly full so you can properly hooligan-about. Get down on the full bar and don’t worry about leaving your bike on the street if you take a cab home- there’s a fence and secure parking.

Games! Play some pool, horseshoes, darts, or try your hand at our carnival games and competitions! Bring a strong throwing arm, that’s all I’ll say.

Get down with the raffle! We’ve got amazing prizes coming from Icon Motosports, Zombie Performance, Wolf Designs, and me! This list is still growing, and if you have something you’d like to donate you can contact me.

While each facet of our everyday life has it’s own culture that is constantly developing, motorcycling is one that seems to have much room to grow. We are behind the times in some areas; ideals and standards were formed and are now being broken, however more often in some regions. More evident in motorcycle racing where the rules and regulations change rather frequently and are written and formal, other pockets and cliques of motorcycle community have unspoken norms that most people adhere to. Similar to the way we build societal norms dependent upon religion, race, region, etc… sometimes it just requires someone to take a sidestep and create a new movement that transcends the average, the expected, the usual.

To me, that’s what the One Motorcycle Show has done. While Portland has it’s own level of eclecticism that adds variety to most events, this “movement” really could have began everywhere. What movement, you ask? The movement of motorcycling becoming whatever you need it to be. A stress release, cheap travel, a way to bond with your kids or explore dirt trails… whatever it may be.

Words on the process from Sofi-

My dad and I started to really get into Cafe bikes back in 09’. Found a new way to express another kind of art, kinda like hot rods. We looove old cars and hot rods. My Dad started reading up on the old Tritons, he found a frame and started piecing one together. I kept saying I wanted to build one too and started doing my own research. I was thinking about an old Ducati bevel but those where hard to find cheap. I was having a really hard time in life at the time so my Dad got me the CB550 for christmas to give me something else to focus on. Became obsessed with ready other peoples creations on different forums and the cafe racer magazines. Pulling all my favorite parts of each bike and created my own vision I guess… About a 3rd of the way through, my Dad and I moved back to texas where I got a full time job as a tech with Ducati Dallas so that took most of my time. Also had aother project I started and had to finish. The bike continues to bomb around town with me a couple times a week. I absolutely love it and will never sell it.
